Hi Folks. Over a year ago, someone named RhaeMare sent in some pics inspired by my stories. We came into an agreement that I would write a whole new story aiming at being spiced with pictures, and he will provide. Unfortunately, after over a year, it never came through. (like the drawings projects with "Greco's"). The story is complete and I felt bad of simply left it sitting there. So, here it is. You'll find in in the Latex section: Karen: The Secret. And more about my decision to "quit".
I received many e-mails about it (16 - yeah, it is MANY) . Most were encouraging, asking me for not to stop. Some were simply "understanding", and a few were downright harsh, stating that I shouldn't "let down" all the readers. Even one called me a looser and said that I was being selfish for quitting (yeah right, I only think about myself...). Of course, those morons with obviously as much intelligence than a dried pea, didn't left either their name or a valid reply e-mail adress. They are "honest" enough to call me a looser, but not enough to show themselves. What I'm about to say, I said it very ofter for the 8 years I've been writing Karen's adventures: I don't get any money from it. My only paycheck is the comments, the inputs from readers. But the mentality of the Internet is take everything, and give nothing back. Heck, I had difficulties getting more than 50 votes on a survey! Many of you guys don't seem to realize the work behing writing over 150 stories. Yes, some readers gave me the starting points, but I wrote those damn things, and writing a story is not like taking a picture. To those "pea brains", I ask you to take 20 pictures of anything you like,(easy!) then write 10 adventures about what you like, each one 10 pages long. Perhaps you'll have a hint of what it takes to do something like that... for 8 years with only a "thank you" here and there. So, this is my final entry. Starting next weekend (7-8 march), I will transfer the monitoring of KFW contact form to Pamela's Playroom webmaster, meaning that the comments sent through the form won't reach me. I would have waited longer but I'm not in the mood to receive another "you're a looser" comment. To those who supported me over the years, I say a very warm and felt THANK YOU. To those who only think about sending something but never did I say "do it now" at the sites you're visiting regularely. To those who thinks I'm nothing more than a looser, I say "go play on the railroad tracks. the Darwing Awards are awaiting your entries." Pete. |
